Ronald Stearney, Jr.
Ron Stearney is a former Assistant Illinois Attorney General and Chicago attorney who entered on duty serving Local 357 in January of 2024. For the previous 26 years, Ron has practiced law across the country as a litigation attorney. He has extensive trial and appellate experience with both jury and bench trials. Ron was selected to Super Lawyers® for 2021-2025, an exclusive list of top-rated attorneys in specific practice areas who were chosen after thorough evaluation of numerous criteria, specializing in business and appellate litigation. He was also selected as one of the top 40 lawyers under 40 in Illinois. Many of his cases are significant opinions that have shaped the law or established new law. Ron was selected by the Chief Judge of the Northern District of Illinois to serve on the civil rights pattern jury instruction committee and subsequently on the United States Court of Appeals sub-committee on civil rights. In private practice, Ron has specialized in contract litigation and negotiations. Ron has been with Republic since 2018, has served on the negotiations committee and is a Captain based in Chicago.
